Capt. Bryan Goodwin was born and raised in Beaufort NC. He grew up on the Southern OuterBanks and has spent countless hours on the waters around Beaufort, Cape Lookout, and Core Banks. His father was a fisherman as were his fathers before him. His ancestors first fished the waters of Carteret County around the year 1750, when Thomas Goodwin settled on Cedar Island. Back then, being a good fisherman was necessary for survival!
Capt. Bryan has worked on the water full or part-time nearly all his life. Fishing, Shrimping, Clamming, Oystering and Flounder Gigging, helped pay his way through college at the University of NC at Chapel Hill. After college Capt. Bryan got his start in television working with the "Coastal Carolina Fishing" show. That's when he first started producing fishing videos and working as a part-time fishing guide. Capt. Bryan now owns his own TV production company and produces his own Fishing Show "DownEast Outdoors."
Capt. Bryan is proficient at most all Saltwater Activities and he knows the local waters "like the back of his hand". He is a USCG licensed Captain, a PADI Certified Open Water Diver, and a Certified Lifeguard. He has completed an internship with the Office of Naval Research, was appointed to the Carteret County Seafood Processing Task Force, has participated in the NC Fisheries Resource Grant Program, and has owned his own seafood business. Capt. Bryan is now a full-time fishing guide and television producer and would love to spend time sharing his experiences with you!
